When you register for an online class at RCC, WebCT automatically adds you to the correct class--DO NOT create your own account or add classes through WebCT; it will disable your official account! To access your courses, use the following information (you will be prompted to change the default password the first time you log in).

- WebCT ID = your 7 digit RCC Student ID

Getting Started


Accessing Your Courses in WebCT
You can register for online courses the same way you register for in-class courses. After you have registered, the class should automatically appear in your WebCT account when you log in. To access your classes, use the following information (you will be prompted to change the default password the first time you log in).

- WebCT ID = your 7 digit RCC Student ID
- Password (default) = changeme

Making Your Computer and Web Browser Compatible with WebCT
For your web browser to properly display and interact with WebCT, you must configure the browser's Internet options. For step-by-step instructions, watch the "Setup" videos in the Online WebCT orientation.

In order for your computer to work with WebCT, the machine must meet the following requirements:

  • A Pentium III PC running Windows 2000 or higher, OR a Macintosh system 9 or better
  • 256Mb RAM and at least 50 Mb of available disk space for assignments and projects
  • 56K modem (DSL or cable highly recommended)
  • An ISP (Internet Service Provider)
  • A word processing software package (Microsoft Word is a RCC standard, though Open Office is an effective substitute, available in our software downloads)
